Buyer Critiques
I have a little squadron of mini helicopters and this one is by far the ideal so far. I read good testimonials of the Syma S107. I was rather pleased with it compared to some of the older Syma models. Then I saw the positive critiques for this and believed I would give it a go. It flies extremely well! Quiter than the other seven helicopters I have and so stable, smooth, and responsive. It is a little slow with forward and reverse momentum, but not negative. Slow is a lot easier to manage...possibly that was intentional. We fly these every single day in the office and this hands down outperforms everthing else.
For those comparing models, here you go:
Syma S109 Apache- Remarkable
Syma S105G (Sport Helicopter) Fairly Superior -Fastest, stable, but somewhat loud, durable metal frame
Syma S107G- (Sport Helicopter) Fairly superior- nearly identical to S105 but a little slower, unique scheme, older?
Syma S026 Chinook- Looks cool, flies ok, but challenging to control. As well a lot power for its weight 'Cieling magnet'
Syma S013 Black Hawk- Horrible! Especially light, spins uncontrollably, fragile
Syma S013 Apache- See S013 Black Hawk evaluation. (friend purchased this one particular to join the entertaining: absolutely nothing but regrets)
Heard the S108G Cobra is really good also but haven't tried it. My deployment to Iraq is pretty much more than, so I likely will not be shopping for any much more toys.
What a difference a gyro tends to make! Outstanding...I tried 1 of the 1st gen micro R/C copters (no gyro on those) not extended right after they came out, and discovered them to be extremely difficult to control and not significantly fun due to the fact of it.
This generation with the gyro is just wonderful even though...SO stable, SO quick - but not boring. There is still a mastering curve for complete R/C noobies that will make this a amazing initial R/C copter, but I appear at it almost like a challenge...attempting to master this little beast is Enjoyable!
This also basically looks like a genuine helicopter, compared to the ones I bought previously, which looked like....properly like R/C copters - totally unrealistic.
The LED lights are great so you can fly at night (my children Like that - the dog...not so a lot), and the point even seems to behave like a genuine helicopter, with ground effect and getting to reduce speed (thrust?) to tilt forward (I am no pilot or physicist, but I do know that the prior models I tried did not give me any kind of sense of "this factor FEELS like I am flying a genuine helicopter!")
Gonna quit now since I sound like I work for the firm (not even sure who the provider is actually, but whoever it is, they sorely want an English native to write the English part of the instruction manual!)
Can not advise this adequate. Hassle-free easy 5 stars.
FYI if you are interested in modding your Syma (specifically, the low-priced, very easy and amazing tail rotor mod that makes it more rapidly and even more agile), you need to decide to purchase the model that looks like the R/C copter (107G I think). Found this out the difficult way, but I still choose this one particular for the looks. Video of the mod outcomes: [...]
